Ugh. Last night made for a very long night at work. I had forgotten they were doing something with the servers and EVERYTHING was going to be down. No Internet in the office and all the ISPs were down. So it made for a very long night having nothing to do and having to repeat the same basic sentiment over and over and over. That started at Midnight.
One of my supervisors ended up coming in around 11:30PM and told me I couldn't move cubes and couldn't take the new machine. So I was given an older machine. It's still not bad, PIII 750MHz with 256MB (well 256 after I took 128 from another dead machine). I had just gotten it setup when the connection went down. I had just connected to WindowsUpdate.
We got internet access back aount 7:45am this morning. I managed to get service pack 1 downloaded and installed on WinXP. The other 39megs of updates will have to wait until next saturday.
About the only thing that kept me form going mostly insane was the copy of CivIII I found in my desk that I had forgotten I even had. Unfortunatly I could only play it for a couple hours before getting bored with it.
So I'm really hoping I never have another night like that at work again.
