Setting Idea

I sometimes get ideas for settings that I'm not sure I could develop too well.  I currently have one kind of brewing.  Basically take the typical fantasy world with Elves, Dwarfs, Orcs, Goblins, Trolls, Gnomes, Etc and instead of being set during a medieval-ish time period I see it set during something similar to the 1930s.  Technology is becoming more and more common due to the ease of it over technology.  A great war is brewing as an evil Empire is stirring.

I would see it mixing noir with fantasy elements.
