Temeraire

Has anyone read any of the Temeraire series of books by Naomi Novik? They sound kind of interesting.

Rambling

Not much going on down here in Florida.

Getting a little writing done.

Been very hot and humid this last week. Looks to be the same this week. Even with AC it's rough.

Tired a lot.

Something on my mind I wanted to post about, but for the life of me I can't remember.

Hasn't even been a full month yet, but it feels like it's been forever. Granted that could just be my warped sense of time.

Watched a bunch of episodes of Mythbusters yesterday that I missed when I didn't have cable. Nothing major, but fun.

Saw an ad for NCIS: Los Angeles for this fall. Not sure what to think of that since NCIS is so much a character driven show to the point that the cases they work are almost just background. So I guess it depends if the characters on NCIS:LA are compelling or generic.

Weird

Whenever I'm logging into a site and I see the "Remember Me" box, I think of the bit with Spock transfering his Kata (or whatever) into McCoy in Star Trek II.

Reading

There is a library in Moore Haven, but I can't get a card because I don't have a Florida State ID. So I've only had the two books I brought with me (Storm Front and Fool Moon) and have read them twice. Want something new to read, but looks like it wont be happening for now.

It'll have been 7 years I've been using Livejournal in September.

Fox

Looks like Fox is moving Fringe to Thursday nights at 9PM when it returns in the fall. So it'll be up against CSI, which as far as I know is still a ratings juggernaut. Sometimes I swear Fox tries to kill good shows.

The Way My Brain Works...

After reading a bit about Temeraire, which is a historical fantasy series set in the Napoleonic era, and vaguely got this mental image of a WWI or WWII-era planes fighting dragons over a war torn Europe. It's something I've considered before, but always realized I couldn't do any real justice to.
