So I started gaming sometime in the mid 80's. A friend got me a copy of D&D: Expert Set for Christmas, that in and of it's self is a bit of a story. ;) After reading it I got my parents to buy the Basic set for me. Never really got a chance to player, but made LOTS of characters. I picked up Marvel Superheroes sometime after that. Loved that too, but never really played that either. However I did make TONS of characters in that also.
For the next several years I collected games and made characters, but never got much of a chance to play. Played a handful of GURPS and MSH games. Sometime in the early 90's (93 or 94) I got involved in a Rifts PBEM. It didn't last long. I picked up a copy of West End Games Star Wars RPG, Second Edition. I fell in love. I stumbled into a IRC game through the Star Wars mailing list, run by
That IRC game opened a whole new world to me. I got involved in several Star Wars IRC games. I started running my own. This was probably 96-ish. This lasted until 2000ish. I got into my first in person game in sometime in 2001 or 2002 and it was a D&D3E game. It was fun and I meet some good people. This only lasted about 6 months. Then in 2002 the Buffy the Vampire Slayer RPG came out.
Once again I fell in love. It was wonderful. It was simple and elegant. I immediately saw the potential. By September I had started my first Buffy game over IRC. It's still running today, even if only one player from then is left. This was a modern day game set in Albany, NY. Shortly after that I started a Wild West game set in the Buffy-verse. It ended sometime late last year. Over that time I have run many games using Unisystem. I have gotten involved in the playtest of Beyond Human.
Currently I am running:
Sunday, Noon to 5PM, Tales of the Albany Hunters. My long running Buffy-verse game set in Albany.
Sunday, 8PM to Midnight, World of Tham. An All Flesh Must Be Eaten, Dungeon & Zombies game.
Thursday, 10PM to 1-2AMish, Erickson Investigation. A Private Investigation Buffy-verse game set in Albany.
Saturday, 10:30PM to 1-2AMish, Star Wars Unisystem. This is every other weekend.
Saturday, 11PM to 1-2AMish, Amethyst Group. A game set in a Dresden Files-esque universe using Unisystem. This starts the first Saturday in February.
Playing in:
Monday, Time Unknown, Secrets of the Carribean. Pirates of the Carribean meets Buffy-verse.
Wenesday, 10PM to 1-2amish, Military Monster Squad playtest game. Superspies in the Buffy-verse.
Can we guess what my favorite system is?
