So let's yesterday I get a check from work. I read the letter with it and aparently the company has been having some kind of DSL sales contest and all employees were divided into teams. I vaguely remember this from early last year and the team I'm on has done well. Not that I actually had anything to do with it. Just very odd. Now I just need to get to a bank to deposit it. Which with how things are right now may not be as easy as that would sound for most.
I watched Shaolin Soccer today. That was a very odd, but great movie. I watched the Chinese version (which has aproximatly an extra 30 minutes) rather than the American theatrical release. I think the only word that can truely describe it is wacky.
I'm not sure if I commented here about this or not, but I got the Harsh Realm DVD set last week. There are 9 episodes on 3 Discs. Now to me that would suggest 3 episodes per disc, right? No. There are four episodes on the first two discs and 1 on the last disc. Also on the last disc are a couple extra features. Just seems strange to me.
Don't know if I mentioned this here either, but I got around to getting my hands on the first three issues of Astonishing X-Men. It's pretty good. It definetly feels like Joss Whedon's other works (Buffy, Angel and Firefly). Which to me is a very good thing. I've also seen rumors around he may direct the next X-Men movie since Brian Singer is now working on Superman.
Looks like Fox is killing another series I enjoyed. Tru Calling has been moved back to a January start and now will only have 6 episodes to start with. Which pretty much Fox saying, "This show is going to die." Maybe if the series does end up getting canceled we'll get Faith the Vampire Slayer that Joss Whedon was thinking of after Buffy went away. It'd be good to see some Joss-ness back on TV.
Heather Graham has been on the show Scrubs for the past three weeks and I guess will be on for at least half the season. She plays a very ditzy psychologist and has been a wonderful fit on the show. I've heard rumors she may end up staying the whole season. In general they have had really good luck with guest stars on the show. They've had Michael J. Fox and Brendon Fraser (who I'm not overly fond of, but liked his character on the show). Both of them played great characters on the show. This is a series I so wish would get released on DVD. It's got a nice mix of intelligent, slapstick and sophomoric humor.
My DVD-/+RW burner is no longer working. Well thats not totally true. It will burn CD's, but not DVD's. Which pretty much makes it useless since I have a perfectly working CD-RW in my main computer. While I want to replace it, I'm not sure it's worth it.
Been listening to a lot of Weird Al today, which is pretty much all I listen to any more.
Man I'm just in a rambling mood. Have to make sure to put this behind a cut. There took care of that. I think I've hit the end of what I ramble about for now. Until next time. Which knowing me could be five minutes from now. ;)
