So I arrived at work and realized I forgot my card key (saying that makes me think of video games) and I realized I also didn't have my wallet either. Fortunatly I had three dollars in my backpack, so I was able to get something to drink and a snack. I did get let in to the office after 2 or 3 minutes of pounding on the door before someone realized I was out there. The other problem with having forgot my wallet at home is it has my username and password for the intranet at work. So I can't enter my hours for the week. Fortunatly this isn't a paycheck week, next week is. So I can enter my hours next weekend.

Last night I was given a new responsibility, preparing the DSL modems to be sent out. Of course I totally forgot about it and got bitched at through email by one of my supervisors. Someone did them today, so I don't have them to do tonight. Next weekend I should have more to do. Blech. Stupid annoying crap. Have to put all the paperwork in the boxes, setup the DSL modem with the customers username and password, make sure it can connect and then pack it in the box with a few other items. I also have to log it in the UPS book and put a tracking sticker on it. I just know I'm going to screw that up. Mostly because I'm a tad paranoid. ;)

I really enjoyed both SG-1 and Atlantis this week. Even if they both had shadowy things moving around the base. Other than that similarity the shows were totally different. SG-1 involved the return of Anubis. As soon as I saw the shadowy shape leave the bit of ship debris in orbit around Earth and enter the International Space Station, I knew it was Anubis. Generally I thought they handled it well. Currently Anubis is now trapped on a frozen world, but it does leave it open for him to return and be a pain in the ass again. :) We also learned that Teal'c is getting an off base apartment. So he is trying to blend in with human society more.

Atlantis involved some kind of entity that sucks the energy out of things. Jinto, one of the kids that came along with the people the Earthlings rescued in the pilot, accidently unleashed it. McKay was involved in a gene therapy test to give him the Ancient gene to access ancient tech. It worked. He activated an experimental ancient personal shield device. It totally protected him from harm, but also didn't allow him to eat or drink. He couldn't figure out how to deactivate it. Eventually they decided to activate the gate, send a naquida generator through and have the entity follow it. Except it killed the power on the MALP trying to bring it through the gate. By this point McKay had figured out how to deactivate the shield device (basically he was afraid and it shut off), without telling anyone he put it on and went into the shadowy entity. He grabbed the naquida generator and tossed it through the Stargate. The entity followed after. He passed out (much manlier than fainting) and it appears the power has been drained from the device. Again this episode had some wonderful lines:

Beckett: "He fainted."
McKay: "I passed out from manly hunger."

That would have to be my favorite.
