I caught Green Lantern - First Flight on Cartoon Network this evening. Like all of the DC animated movies it was too short, but in general it was enjoyable. The voice casting was good. I'd give it a strong 8.5 out of 10. It almost felt like it should have been two movies.
I would have made this two movies. The first dealing with Hal partenered up with Sinestro, making Sinestro slightly more sympathetic at first and slowly showing his darker side. By the end of the movie I'd have him getting his Yellow Ring.
The second movie would deal with him hunting down & killing Green Lanterns and then taking their rings. Hal would be assigned to find out who was killing the the lanterns. Eventually he'd find out it was Sinestro, but by then Sinestro would be ready to attack Oa. Might even steal a little from the Sinestro War and have him convert the stolen green lantern rings into yellow ones to raise an army.
