Hopefully today I'll get a chance to see Superman Returns. While Superman isn't my favorite Superhero, I am still looking forward to the movie. I've always been more of a Marvel comics fan than a DC fan. Overall I'd say Spider-Man is the Superhero I can relate to the best. Although X-Men are a close second.

Seeing the Spider-Man teaser has gotten me really excited, even if it is a year away. For a Teaser it had a lot of content. Especially when compared to something like the Transfromers teaser which contains basically 0 content.

Next year should have at least 3 Marvel movies (Ghost Rider, Spider-Man 3 and Wolverine) and maybe a sequel to Fantastic Four. I generally enjoyed the Fantastic Four movie, except for the end battle which was over way to quickly. Which was also my complaint with Daredevil, but the Directors Cut of that helps make it a better movie.

I would love to see a tv series based on the Ultimate Spider-Man comic. Animated would be easier, but I think live action would be cool. It could be half teen drama and half superhero action, kind of like the comic. Ahh, to dream.

So I've been reading a bit on the new major crossover event for Marvel called Civil War. It all starts in Stamford, CT where the New Warriors are filming a reality superhero show. They come across a group of supervillains who appear to be minding their own business, until they notice the New Warriors and the film crew. All hell breaks loose. One of the New Warriors, Namortia, chases after a villain named Nuke. She chases him near a school where he does what he does, he explodes in a massive explosion. It destroys a huge chunk of Stamford. The New Warriors and the Villains and many, many innocents are killed. This starts a debate about Superheros needing to register with the government. This means they would need to tell the government their secret IDs and receive training by the government. On the pro side of registering is Iron Man and on the con side is Captain America. Spider-Man sides with Iron Man and eventually decides to publicly reveal his identity. This leads to him getting sued by the Daily Bugle for misrepresentation, fraud and a few other things.

While I'm still not sure how I feel about Spider-Man no longer having a secret ID, the over all Civil War story sounds interesting and is supposed to lead to some big changes in the general Marvel Universe. There is supposed to be at least one major death that is claimed to last. As always only time will tell with these kinds of things.

I have an ongoing subscription to Amazing Spider-Man and Astonishing X-Men. Both of which renewed just before my job ended. I really wish I had subscribed to Ultimate Spider-Man and Ultimate X-Men. Oh well.

Well as always I have started to ramble and gone way off track. Umm, yeah, so hopefully I'll go see Superman Returns today.
