I think the Knights of Order need someone akin to the Watchers to the Slayer in Buffy.  Currently I'm leaning towards using the term Guides for them.  They are trainers, historians and mystics.

Some Knights of Order reject their calling and become Knights (or maybe Agents) of Chaos.  They seek death and destruction of Knights and Guides.

I'm thinking Rachel Roses mystical armor will look like black leather armor with a red flaming rose on the front and back.

Sword wise I'm thinking a long sword with a black hilt with a rose shape at the bottom and a red blade.

Rachel Rose
  • 6 Feet Tall
  • Athletic, but not muscular
  • Short Jet Black Hair
  • Pale Skin
  • Tends to wear tee-shirts, jeans and combat boots
  • Tattoo of a rose on the inside of her wrist
  • Might work as a cook at a diner or maybe a bartender
  • Has a pet cat named Merlin
  • Adopted by Doctor Angela Rose and Professor of Archaeology Adam Rose
  • Doesn't know her birth parents
  • Drives a Midnight Blue 1974 Plymouth Barracuda

Knights of Order run through several family lines, with there currently being about two dozen through out the world. They aren't super strong, but are tougher than normal humans. They can also surround themselves in mystical armor and call to themselves a ghostly sword. The sword is harmless to mortals, but very useful against the Forces of Chaos.  The mystical armor and sword they can create looks unique to each Knight of Order.  One Knight might have armor that looks like traditional medieval plate armor and another might summon armor that looks like it is made of ice.  Most are trained from childhood how to use their abilities.

Forces of Chaos are things like Vampires, Werewolves, Demons and some Ghosts, along with other such beings.  They seek to corrupt and destroy humans.

Well I imported my Livejournal entries and stuff over to my new dreamwidth account. Seems to have gone smoothly.

This is a TEST.
I've become a user of twitter and have fallen into using that as my place to ramble. @psychoticdreams is where I can be found on twitter.

What I came here to post is I've finished a story, something I have done in a long time. Elizabeth Hand is a former superhero turned Private Investigator in Edge City. Without further ado I present Diamond and Onyx: An Elizabeth Hand Case File:

I've already started work on a second Elizabeth Hand Case File, April Fools.

If you read the story post your thoughts. I'm not looking for critical analysis on the story, just if you enjoyed it or not. Nothing major.

Well crap.

Living room TV is messed up. Started yesterday when about 6:30 it turned itself on and the volume shot up to Max. My Father wrested with it and managed to get it turned off. Seemed fine until about 9am when it suddenly turned itself on and the volume would suddenly start going up. I took the batteries out of all the remotes, in case they were the cause. Still kept happening and then stopped around 10:30ish. All seemed fine until about 10 minutes ago when it happened again. Changing channels, volume shooting up and switching Inputs. Got so bad I've had to unplug the TV. Going to leave it unplugged for a while and check it again later.

If it comes down to it we can put one of the small bedroom TVs in the living room, since we can't afford to replace it. Ugh.

Yeah, that did happen fast.....

Super City Police Department: The Case of the Claw is now on sale! The good folks at Crossroad Press have made it available in every possible eBook format -- MOBI (Kindle) EPUB (Sony / Nook / iPad / Kobo) PDF (Adobe) and PRC (Mobipocket) -- so you can read it on your eReader or your computer.

Here's the blurb for the book:
The great metropolis of Super City is the home of dozens of costumed heroes: Spectacular Man, the Terrific Trio, the Bruiser, the Superior Six, and more.

This isn't their story...

When the heroes are done punching out the villains, it's left to the stalwart men and women of the Super City Police Department to restrain them, arrest them, and hope that this time there's enough evidence to actually convict them.

The mutated spree killer known as the Claw has returned, leaving bloody victims all over Super City. While Homicide detectives try to find out who the Claw really is, uniformed officers must deal with the Bolt's escape from the drunk tank, and the bumblings of aspiring hero Knight Dude. Meanwhile, the Superior Six claim they'll cooperate with the police and stop the Claw—but they're busy fighting the Brute Squad and stonewalling the cops. The SCPD must find out the Claw's deadly secret, before he claims another victim!

I've put up an excerpt if you want to sample the book first. If you like what you see, head on over to Crossroad and pick it up!

If you read it, just let me know what you think through some means. Thanks.
I really think there are a number of Superheroes that would work for Live Action TV. The best bets are low powered street level characters such as Luke Cage, Iron Fist, Green Arrow, Moon Knight, Batman or even Robin, or probably a slew of others I'm forgetting.

I keep hoping with the success of Superhero movies we'll see more live action Superheroes on TV. However with the failure of The Cape and Wonder Woman before it even got going, odds seem less and less likely.

I still try and dabble in writing, but I just can't do it any more. I miss the days when I had no mental filters and just wrote whatever came out. Now when I sit down and write I worry about if it's any good or if anyone is going to like it. It just causes me to end up giving up on writing. So I haven't written anything in years. I have lots of ideas, but just can't develop them any more.

I'm not going to discuss details from the series finale. I'm just going to say over all I enjoyed the journey despite all it's ups and downs. A very fun ride over all for me. In the end I was kind of hoping they'd announce the show would return as The New Adventures of Lois & Clark, but alas I think that's just a pipe dream.

Saw Thor this evening and absolutely loved it. It was epic and fun and intelligent. It had good humor and excellent characters. I really recommend it.

Today is my Birthday. I'm 38 years old. Beyond that it's really just another day. Nothing special really.
Currently playing around with some stuff for a story. Superhero story, big shock.
Main character is Red Hawk, formerly the second Hawklad sidekick to White Hawk. The original Hawklad retired after injury and became the founder of the Superhero Information Network and calls himself SIN Broker. The third Hawklad, the only biological son of White Hawk, has taken up his Father's title.

Red Hawk fights crime in a 20 by 20 square block area of Orchard City known as Circus Square or just The Circus. In the early days of Orchard City, the area known as Circus Square was a circus. Now it's home to low income housing, high crime rates and gangs. Four major gangs vie for the area: The Brotherhood of Shadows, the Death Merchants, the Blood Roses and the Red Dragons. So far I know the Red Dragons dabble in magic.

Just curious if anyone out there has a SNES or NES (with games could be nice) someone out there would like to donate to an out of work gamer without a console. I honestly doubt anyone out there does, but I'd be quite happy if someone did. :)

If someone out there were able to do this I'd hopefully be able to come up with shipping or split shipping or something.
